The Medicare Rights Center's Technical Assistance Hotline is for professionals who need help understanding and explaining Medicare to their clients. Our experienced caseworkers help social workers, nurses, advocates, pharmacists and other health care professionals ensure that their clients get the health care and medications they need—and that they understand their rights. Our caseworkers are committed to providing accurate, non-biased information and ongoing technical support to professionals.

In speaking with professionals across the country, we gain a better understanding of the experiences of both people with Medicare and those who serve them. This, in turn, informs the Medicare Rights Center's broader policy and educational agenda.

For New York SHIP

Technical Assistance Hotline for New York State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIP)

The Medicare Rights Center offers unbiased, up-to-date assistance to the New York State SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program). The New York State SHIP is comprised of New York State HIICAP (Health Insurance Information Counseling Assistance Program) coordinators and counselors. The Technical Assistance team is backed up by the Medicare Rights Center's extensive resources (including Medicare Interactive), its legal services team and low-income enrollment teams.

For New York City MCCAP Network

Technical Assistance for New York City Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program (NYC MCCAP) Network

The Medicare Rights Center is designated as a Specialist Agency that provides technical expertise and training to New York City's Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program network. We also accept client referrals from agencies in the MCCAP network. Members of the network can contact a designated staff member by phone, e-mail or speak to her in person at meetings and site visits arranged by MCCAP.
